This Fantasy Book Deserves More Hype!

BOOK REVIEW: This Woven Kingdom by Tahereh Mafi

A gorgeous YA fantasy influenced by Persian mythology. It has a strong female lead, an enemies to lovers romance, and a stunning magic system.

Book Summary:

Alizeh hides in plain sight as a snoda, a servant that must cover their face. The work gives her shelter, a chance to earn money, and a way to keep her identity hidden. Because Alizeh is also the long lost heir to an ancient Jinn kingdom. She doesn’t want her kingdom, just a chance to build a life, but the king wants her dead.

Kamran is the gruff, aggressive crown prince. One day he has an encounter with a snoda with strange eyes and he can’t stop thinking about her. But what happens when he discovers that she’s the girl that the prophecies say will kill his grandfather?

My Review:

I LOVED this book! The Persian mythology creates a unique fantasy world. I loved reading about the Jinn and their powers. Plus the details around the culture, food, and clothes was amazing. The true enemies-to-lovers relationship between Alizeh and Kamran was believable and exciting! I can’t wait to read more from Taherah Mafi!
