📍Traveling can be much cheaper than you’d think

You can get by on $20/day in many countries. Even flights are cheaper than many people think, as long as you put in the time and effort to research them instead of booking the first flight you find.

📍Search for your flights in reverse

You should use the Skyscanner “search everywhere” option to find cheap flights but bonus points if you also reverse search meaning you start with your destination and find a cheap flight from there to a connecting city between the destination and your city. These usually aren’t suggested automatically. For example, I have flown between Asia and Europe for quite cheap by buying separate flight tickets between big Asian cities and European cities with a layover in the Middle East. However, for these cheap tickets you need to find and book each flight ticket separately and not buy the more expensive tickets suggested by airlines.

📍You should check multiple websites when booking accommodation

There are often big differences in price between different websites. I usually book on Booking.com but there have been times I have also found cheaper places to stay on Agoda, Airbnb and Hostelworld.

📍Free (tip-based) walking tours are the best activity to do everywhere

I go on a free walking tour in almost every city I visit and always have such a great time for an affordable price. You get to hear about the place you are visiting from a local and meet other travelers.
