How I saved $170 traveling to Seville

When traveling to Seville from Lisbon we had a range of options from a flight, bus, rideshare (yes!), and even a car rental. We were choosing between a $200 1.5hr flight + 2hrs at the airport or $30 bus that would take 6 hours. There is no rail between Spain and Portugal, rideshares were better booked closer to the date, and a car rental would have cost $1000++ for having to cross the border one way. We figured we could use the “rest” so then opted for the bus option.

Pros:

🚌 Cost-effective at $30/person

🚌 Reserved seats

🚌 Left and arrived on time

🚌 Bathroom breaks!

Cons:

🚌 Long time to be sitting in a bus

🚌 Reserved seats cost money ($7-11 euros). We were randomly assigned different / separated seats even if we booked as a group of 3…. which was annoying and felt tactical and make you pay more

🚌 Had several stops which is why the whole trip was 6 hrs where it got very packed in the end

🚌 Wifi was advertised, but we got an affiliate bus so our ride did not have wifi

🚌 Only voucher is provided for a future ride for the cancellation policy
