El Paso was our starting and end point on our trip to Marfa, Texas (another 3 hour drive away). It's a great base for a lot of national parks in this area - like White Sands National Park, Guadalupe Mountains National Park, and Carlsbad Caverns. All 3 are within about a 2-hour drive from here. The town itself has a bit of a vibe to it and you'll find some nice coffee shops and nice places to stay. Park Plaza is definitely on the more expensive side when it comes to accommodations but it was my birthday-eve so we splurged even for just 1 night.
The Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park
106 W Mills Ave, El Paso, TX 79901
βοΈ Location: 10/10 very central and urban area of El Paso with access to a lot of nice spots in the vicinity. Front desk was a bit snooty, unfortunately so 7/10 for service.
βοΈ Value: 9/10 It cost $210 for 1 night for Double Queen room - very spacious for just two people and great bathroom. It was very dusty though and feels like they assigned us to a room which hasn't been kept in while (so this contributes to the service aspect).
βοΈ Design: 10/10 The design is very stylish, I really liked the lobby and the room felt really luxe.
Overall, would stay here again if I ever do find myself in El Paso, Texas again.
