Sharing my kinda chill, kinda packed itinerary in Los Angeles when I was a tourist back in June 2019. This wasn't my first time in LA, I had visited with my family a few years prior but I wasn't really able to explore the city like how I would have wanted to back then! So this itinerary is filled with all the *basic* things you need to do while in LA (I did this with my grad school friends) and we were even able to squeeze in Disneyland and Yosemite. It's a tiring, touristy itinerary but wouldn't change a thing π
10 DAYS
β¨ 2 days Santa Monica / Venice Beach
β¨ 2 days Yosemite
β¨ 1 day Downtown LA + Silverlake
β¨ 1 day Disneyland
β¨ 4 days (West Hollywood, Los Feliz, Melrose Avenue, Beverly Hills)
Day 1: Santa Monica / Venice
β Arrived in LA from NYC and picked up our rental car
β Had Eggslut for the first time at Venice ~$8/sandwich (1611 Pacific Ave, Venice)
β Spontanously watched a concert that night!
Day 2: Santa Monica / Venice
β Spent the entire day chilling around the beach at Santa Monica and Venice Beach
β Took photos with every mural we saw
β Went to Santa Monica Pier (200 Santa Monica Pier, CA) and chilled by the beach
Day 3: YOSEMITE
β Left LA at 6:00am and was in Yosemite National Park by lunch time (5 hours with stopovers)
β Spent the afternoon in Yosemite Valley (my first time ever!), $30/car for 7 days
Day 4: YOSEMITE > LA
β Squeezed in half a day at Glacier Point in Yosemite before driving back to LA
Day 5: Downtown LA / Los Feliz
β Spent 2 hours at the The Broad - free entry (221 S Grand Ave, LA)
β Walked around Walt Disney Concert Hall - also free (right beside The Broad)
β Had lunch at Grand Central Market (317 S Broadway, LA) and had $16 adobo bowl from Sari Sari
β Went to the Last Bookstore as it's quite famous (453 S Spring St, LA)
β Looked for the secret swing in Elysian Park (Angels Point Drive and Park Row Drive in Elysian Park, LA)
β Finished the day at Griffith Observatory, waited for sunset, and watched as the city lights all turned on. We paid $10 to enter the observatory as well and check out some of the exhibits.
Day 6: Silverlake, The Getty, Lacma
β Spent a few hours at The Getty (free), my very first time! (1200 Getty Center Dr, LA)
β Went to Lacma late afternoon and waited for Urban Light installation (free) to light up! (5905 Wilshire Blvd, LA)
Day 7: DISNEYLAND
β Spent the entire day at Disneyland (located in 1313 Disneyland Dr, Anaheim, CA)
β At the time entry was about $125/adult
Day 8: LA
β Went all over Los Angeles: Melrose Avenue, Koreatown, and Original Farmer's Market
β Took photos at Paul Smith's iconic pink wall & other murals around Melrose Avenue (8221 Melrose Ave)
β Roamed around Original Farmers Market & The Grove (The Grove Dr, LA)
β Partied all night at West Hollywood at The Abbey (692 N Robertson Blvd, West Hollywood, CA) as it happened to be the night before LA Pride!
Day 9: West Hollywood
β Joined LA Pride Parade in the morning and chilled with the crowds all afternoon
Day 10: Chill LA day & flight back out
β Wrote some postcards at Huntington State Beach (21601 E Pacific Coast Hwy, CA)
β Flew back to NYC that evening
I always think of this trip fondly and it was especially nice to be with a group of friends who had similar interests!
