Have you tried having hot glutinous rice balls on shaved ice? The contrast is quite unqiue!

This Michelin Bib Gourmand stall located in Linjiang street night market in Taipei serves handmade glutinous rice balls filled with sesame or peanut filings atop a bowl of shaved ice and topping it off with osmanthus syrup.

We tried this at their second outlet which is located in Raohe street night market and it was definitely a refreshing treat at the end of the day. It is recommended that you finish up the rice balls first else it will turn harder when it gets cold. After that you can drizzle more osmanthus syrup or lemon juice provided by them to add more sweetness to the shaved ice.

The glutinous balls were chewy and had a generous amount of filings in them and the osmanthus syrup has a unique floral aroma, enhancing the overall taste with mild sweetness. For 90 twd which is around $3.65 sgd, i would say its pretty worthy to give it a try!

They have other desserts on the menu as well so do pop by for a refreshing treat when you’re there!
