Wedding Shoes: Splurge or not?

💍Ever since I started on wedding planning last year, there is 2 things I hear of polar opposite ends. “It’s once in a life time” & “Budget what you want and need”.

And very often when it comes to Luxury/designer goods. You can get quite conflicted on it🤔 I’m not here to change your mind but to give you an inside on someone who was in this position 😅 and having a #mindfulspending mindset before you decide to splurge on something😅

Budget 💵

• My rule of thumb for any big purchases, do not go in debt/loan for it. I even go to an extend of, if you have to go into instalment for it, then rethink about it. (not talking about those purchases with deposit/instalment cos of credit card mileage/ houses/business)

• Are you spending future money(next paycheck)or what you already have in your bank(savings)?

• Splurge within your means

•Think about your future expenses(honeymoon, house, children)

Frequent use ⏳

• Do you see yourself using it other than your wedding?

• Is it too precious to be worn for other occasions?

• Some shoes require high maintenance to upkeep, are you willing to spend time and money to do so?

Impluse purchase 🥲

• Girl, we’ve all been there. So let me tell you my go to reasonings 😅 / 1) Let me sleep it through and see if I’ll want it tomorrow. If I come back in 3 days time and it’s still there, then it’s meant to be. 2) Let me see if there’s resale value when I change my mind 😂

Branding/comfort✨

• we’ve all heard of the red soles #christianlouboutin and how uncomfortable they are but yet people are still wearing and buying it, so stick to what you value.

• I choose to have comfort over style and you’ll be surprise some brands have pretty comfortable shoes. I went into Jimmy Choo and tried several pairs and out of the many, I only found 2 pairs of designs/cutting that doesn’t hurt my feet. But I also found non branded shoes for 1/4 of the price and they are so comfy!

• Will you be selling it? Is there resale value?

✨ side note, I ended up not buying any of the branded wedding shoes I tried on. In fact, I found one 1/4 of the price and I see myself being able to wear that piece in many different occasions and outfits😍
