I’ve always been super big on reading but haven’t actually taken the time to sit and read in a long time. Being a young black woman I already know my daily struggles through life but it’s nice to read about how it affects others as well! And it’s not just a book that’s directed toward black people but anyone willing to learn.

So far into my read it is look through the eyes of the author as a young black women growing up and how she experiences racism for the first time. As she learns more about not only herself and her culture she develops more confidence after being called the n-word for the first time. So far it really dives into the authors life and soon is heading into the direction of how ignorance affects the black mind.
