Styling A Record Wall

I started collecting records when I was in middle school. There was a fun record shop by my middle school that my dad would take me to. He would check me out of school early for the day, and we would get to go record shopping together. I think I was collecting records before I even had a record player, just because I thought they looked cool 🎶.

So now that I've been collecting them for a few years, I have a good amount of them, and displaying them is one of my favorite ways to decorate.

When I moved into this apartment, figuring out a layout that would allow space for a record wall like this was crucial when I was planning out my living room 🏠.

For the table, I got it from Target, and I think it looks beautiful. But it's not the sturdiest piece of furniture, it is a bit wobbly (unless we just put it together wrong, haha).

For the shelves, I like these ones from CB2, and we get the longest length that they come in, which I think is 48 inches. And I think you can squeeze four records onto that, but most of the time, I just do three records across. You can do as many rows as your ceiling height would allow. I think I would really like to add a third row to mine so that it's like a perfect 3x3 grid.

One of the reasons I love having a record wall is because I can change it based on the mood or the people that are coming to visit me or anything we're celebrating. If I have my parents coming to stay at my apartment, I change the records based on what they like. If it's my husband's birthday, we change the records based on what he likes. When the Barbie movie came out, I changed them all to pink records 🌸.

I think it's just such a fun way to update and show some personality in your space.
