DIY BURL WOOD TABLE

Burl wood has made a full circle and has been popularized by brands like Crate & Barrel and CB2. Here’s how I made my own without breaking the bank.

Step 1: Find a base. My furniture of choice is this pedestal table I got from a thrift store. You choose what furniture choice you want to do this on, my tip is to pick a piece with flat surfaces.

Step 2: I got my contact paper from amazon. You can find one by searching “Burl Wood Contact Paper” and pick a good quality one. Look at reviews before purchasing. Before starting make sure to clean the surface for any dust or dirt. You want to make sure the contact paper goes on smoothly. Once cleaned, directly apply the contact paper. Flatten it with a hard card (I used an old credit card) to get rid of air bubbles and make sure the surface is nice and flat.

Step 3: Remove excess with an X-acto knife. Once removed and cleaned of excess, that is it! You have your DIY Burl wood table.
