Hey lemonettes! I've been wanting to visit the Studio Ghibli theme park ever since it opened at Aichi Prefecture but I haven't had the chance to, yet.
So when Art Science Museum announced that they would be having a Ghibli exhibition I was EXCITED. Then I saw the ticket prices were 40+ bux before discount and I had to seriously consider twice. In the end after consulting with the hubby who advised me to just go for it, I caved and bought tickets. HACK to save 💵 : sign up for Marina Bay Sands Lifestyle membership (it's free!) and get your ticket at $35 only!!
Okay so firstly they don't even check your timeslot (I think) the staff just scans your e-ticket and lets you join the queue. IMO there should've been a sign at the start of the queue to indicate clearly because it was located in front of another exhibit's entrance and quite a few people just JUMPED THE LINE and joined at the start of the later half of the queue.
Secondly, there was another queue to enter the exhibit on Level 3 which snaked all the way to Level 4. It made me feel that they oversold tickets or just didn't bother with the timeslot entry. This queue was a good 20-30min of our lives gone...
Altogether there were about 11 films featured and the installations were just delightful. Two photo spots which again had queues of 20-40min each, with staff stationed to manage the queue. My favourites were probably the Spirited Away section and the Howl's Moving Castle (it moves!!)
Overall worthiness : 4/5⭐
Minus one star for the long queues despite the steep ticket price. But definitely recommend if you're a Ghibli fan
