9 cm dilated without an epidural!

I wanted as natural of a birth as I could get. I got to 9 cm dilated without an epidural and I was doing good until then… but the contractions got so painful I was screaming and begging the nurse for an epidural before it was too late.

It took what seemed like forever for them to get the epidural guy to come in and put a needle into my back for it.

I had no idea what an epidural was. Just that it would take the pain away.

My boyfriend saw everything and didn’t leave once or got too disgusted, he did better than I thought he did, considering he has a sensitive stomach towards things.

He told me there was a huge needle inserted into my back.

I’m sensitive to needles and blood (I have hemophobia) so he made sure I didn’t see anything that was going on when it came to blood and stuff.

The epidural finally got here and I felt soooo much relief 🥲 😮‍💨

I was disappointed that I didn’t make it like I wanted to but I am still proud of myself and I did really well!
