These strategies can help you SAVE BANK!

Here are some strategies I used within my budget to help me save $20,000! Remember, saving a significant amount of money is a marathon not a sprint.

1. Meal planning and limiting eating out:

I started meal planning each week and cutting back on eating out. At first, my goal was to eat at home 4 nights a week, I slowly increased this to 5-6 nights a week. It helped that I had a partner to do this with, but even getting your roommates or friends on board can be a fun way to make eating at home easier. If you like eating out, try making a new recipe at home that's inspired by your favorite place. Additionally, meal prepping your dinners for week nights is a super smart way to set yourself up for success!

2. Buying necessities in bulk:

Costco, costco, costco -- and sometimes Amazon, ha! Buying in bulk has saved me a lot of money on necessities.

3. Find free or budget-friendly activities to enjoy on weekends or week nights out. Check out my page for tons of ideas for budget-friendly activities!!

4. I also regularly evaluate my subscriptions and cancel the ones I'm not using. These companies bank on you forgetting to cancel so stay diligent on those auto-charges

5. Shop second-hand and during seasonal sales for great deals. I love a thrifting day every so often. If you don't have any good thrift shops near you, it might be worth driving to a town that has several to find some good deals. Same goes for estate sales and shopping seasonal sales.
