FYI You’re writing your resume wrong… 😧

What if I told you that your resume bullet points could be the very reason you’re not hearing back from companies regarding your application status…? 😳

It’s easy to default to writing our bullets in a job description-like style, where we’re really just listing what we’ve worked on, instead of showing impact.

But communicating your achievements and impact help build your credibility and reputation as a results oriented person, which is what most companies are looking for — can you do the job? Or can you also achieve real results with your work?

Keep a working list at every company you work for that tracks the projects and tasks you’ve worked on and what your results were from a data or numbers perspective! Doing this as you go helps you keep the list organized and updated, which is helpful since you may not have access to the data once you leave and get logged out of everything.

This was a highly stressed aspect of resume writing when I was in college at Berkeley and I think everyone needs to know about it!
