listen up, y'all! ⤵️

imo making adult friendships is hard asf… and can be even more awkward than dating. 😬

when i realized i wanted friends to discuss books with, attend local bookstore events, and meet up to just to read together- i realized none of my current "irl" friends were readers (or had interest in becoming readers). *sigh*

so i took to the internet, scouring hashtags for my area, and local indie bookshops (check who comments on posts), to find new friends! 👀

i began messaging them, letting them know i started a discord server of local readers, and that they could add anyone who would be interested. once a month i’d plan meet ups and different people would go each time!

✈️ pro tip: it works while traveling, too! i had extra time on my recent los angeles trip, so i picked a place/date/time and kept posting online to invite new friends, and messaged creators i knew from the internet who lived in the area!
