None of us like to work so dang hard just to feel like you’ve fallen off track after traveling so here are my tips to “stay on track” while traveling ✈️
This is why building habits is so important because this is what makes this a lifestyle you can carry on wherever you go and don’t have to “lose” the progress you’ve worked so hard for.
BUT you have to put in a little effort and these are the rules I personally follow because even though I won’t lose all my progress by just being away for a week or two I also don’t like feeling like 💩 on vacation.
#1 :
FIND A GROCERY STORE.
Set yourself up for success by having healthy snacks on hand because odds are when you’re hungry you’re more likely to choose something you wouldn’t normally choose.
I like to stock up on protein heavy snacks (to hit my protein goal or just close somedays😅) like hard boiled eggs and protein shakes/bars.
#2 :
PRIORITIZE PROTEIN WHEN EATING OUT.
You’re on vacation so eat yummy foods! But prioritize protein in each meal. I usually still choose “healthier” options except when I’m actually craving something else. Remember the food you put in your body will determine how you FEEL.
#3 :
WALK AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
I wake up early if I need to but moving your body is the best way to feel good and feel more energized. So park further away or walk instead of drive if it’s possible.
#4 :
WORKOUT WHEN I CAN.
I personally love working out while on vacation so this isn’t hard for me unless I have a busy day planned. Wake up early to get your workout in, it doesn’t have to take a lot of time. I prioritize 2-4 compound movements which can be done in as little as 30 minutes.
#5 :
DRINK LOTS AND LOTS OF WATER!
Last but definitely not least. Stay hydrated and make sure to drink water throughout the day!
If I drink alcohol I’ll usually avoid sugary mixed drinks and instead opt for a clear seltzer or just clear liquor.
At the end of the day it’s about making memories so have fun and just get back on track when you’re home🫶🏼
