I hate it here

After getting back from Europe, I’m starting to feel depressed. I feel so much happier and like me when I’m in Spain.

I love that they are more focused on sustainability. There are trash cans everywhere, the cities are clean, and they make it convenient and easy to recycle. They banned plastic bags in most countries and make a huge effort to be environmentally friendly. They walk more (which I love) and make it easy to use public transportation, reducing a ton of carbon emissions.

The food is so much cheaper. Two large lattes in Spain were 4.20 euros. I came home and paid $14 for two large lattes with a tip. You can go out to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the same price as dinner with a tip in America. The grocery stores and produce is so much cheaper and fresher and higher quality too.

Life moves slower there. No one is in a huge rush. I feel more creative. Everywhere you look is beauty. I like their values so much more. They care about each other and are less self motivated. They value work-life balance. They put an emphasis on community and gathering. You have support systems outside of your family. There is free healthcare and housing is much more affordable.

I truly feel more me when I am there and my heart has a never ending pull towards Europe.
