My hair grew back!!

After I stopped taking my birth control:

-My hair grew back.

I had thick hair my whole life and when I started the depo, my hair was SO thin. I remember my friends braiding my hair and saying it feels like I have baby hair. I had severe breakage around my hairline. Within a year of getting off of birth control, my hair is longer and thicker than it has ever been.

-I lost 35lbs

I gained so much weight and I tried everything to lose the weight. I was working out excessively, dieting, etc. and nothing would take the weight off. After getting off of birth control, I lost 20 lbs super quick and continued to drop weight until I lost 35 lbs in total.

-My face changed

I always looked really inflamed and my jawline looked super heavy. My facial structure wasn’t defined, but after getting off of birth control, my face has changed so much. It’s a lot thinner, structured, and lifted.

-I got acne

This was the only con to getting off of birth control, but honestly so worth it compared to all of the pros. I got it under control with the h(elp of my dermatologist.

-My mental health improved

The switch was almost automatic. I was so depressed that I was failing classes, sleeping all day, and missing important life events. I am so much happier than I’ve ever been in my entire life.
