I decided to be an author. is it wrong?

so I decided to be an author.

Why? because it has always been my passion.

I study in the field of construction... But I like arts & writing more...

Is it wrong to choose a different road than others? ... my course mate that has graduated with me, most of them work in the construction industry... either as an engineer, drafter, Quantity surveyor, etc... but me? I decided to be an author... a work way out of my field of study ...

But I never think that it's a waste for me to study...my degree is not a waste at all since I learn a lot...not just things regarding construction but also about teamwork, managing my time and many more. Moreover I met a lot of good people too.

I like how it's going now... but I sometimes I still have a bit of feeling shy when I meet with my course mate.. because they will talk a lot about jobs etc and they have commons while me? I'm different... I will just stay quiet and listen...

anyway, I never think it's wrong to choose a different way than others... the most important things is your own mental health ... I would rather find a job that I like and have passion in it than a job that will be the death of me (because I don't like it)
