Happy Thursday!! We are almost to the weekend and I wanted to share this tip since it is Tips/Tricks Thursday. I made a plan to organize my weekly posting. So you’ll be seeing these types of post every Thursday! Anyway!!!!!!

🖤 When writing you’ll run into the favorite word syndrome. Almost everyone gets it. Mine happens to be a variety of pronouns, while, as and every. It changes every so often. There are ways to avoid it as much as possible. Especially when describing a person.

🤍 Thesaurus’s are your best friend. Using synonyms can help defeat that problem and enhance your writing. Even if you don’t use it while writing the first draft you can use it while editing. I did it during both and you can see the difference.

🤍 Pinterest has a lot of cool pictures with breakdowns (I’ve attached some in the post). It’s important to describe the situation to readers and every word counts. I love using eyes as an example in my writing, but there are so little words that comes to mind when I visualize my character. These charts help expand the visual.

🤍Lastly, for now. Don’t be afraid to use your characters names in the book. You don’t always have to use she/her/hers. There are multiple incidents in my one chapter that I have stuck to using she while describing my fmc from my mmc pov. A friend of mine called me out, and since then I’ve been super conscientious about it. Don’t be afraid to have someone read the part you are unsure of. It’ll help in the long run!!
