My husband is fatphobic…

My husband (27ftm) is not shy about his fatphobia. He always has something to say about “fat” people. I (23f) am clearly fat and currently weigh about 275lbs. When we first met, I was closer to 300lbs. I have told him that I am fat on many occasions. He disagrees. He says that because of the way my weight is carried, he doesn’t see me as a fat woman. He thinks I am on the curvier side of plus size. Once again, we disagree on that.

However!! I am a bit biased when it comes to weight as well. I am not fatphobic but I also don’t endorse unhealthy weights. My husband knows I have an issue with my own weight as well as his (he’s about 115lbs). He’s doing his best to gain weight to be at a healthier weight and I’m doing my best to lose weight to achieve the same goal. This is why him being fatphobic doesn’t bother me as much as I thought it would. If anything, his hatred towards “fat” people is a great motivation for me to lose weight and keep it off. I understand he doesn’t see me as fat but since I do, it correlates in my mind.

What’s your own opinion on this? I know this may not be ideal and might even be an odd situation to most but I am super curious to other people’s opinions! And I would like to add that the reason the word fat is in quotations so much is because I am quoting my husband unless it refers to myself.
