My Honest Thoughts on: Hooked by Emily McIntire

I recently read Hooked and I really truly thought I was going to love it, but sadly, I did not. I didn’t think it was bad, by any means, but it didn’t captivate me the way that I hoped it would. I gave it 3 out of 5 stars and overall I have a pretty neutral opinion about it.

This book follows James and Wendy. James has a vendetta against Wendy’s dad, and plans to use Wendy as a way to seek his revenge. Wendy doesn’t know this, and after visiting James’ bar, finds herself drawn to him. Things spiral from there.

The misunderstandings in this book drove me nuts- one genuine conversation could’ve done wonders for these two! I found myself rolling my eyes more than once, wishing they would just communicate like adults.

The spice was probably the best part of this book- the spice was great!

I definitely plan to read more of this series to give them a shot- I’ve heard it just gets better and better as you go.
