Imposter syndrome can feel like a heavy cloud 🌧️ With a holistic approach that blends awareness, practical techniques, and intentional practice, I've learned to navigate these feelings for a calmer reaction.
✨ I named it!
The first step in managing imposter syndrome is to recognize and name it. This is not just a personal struggle but a common phenomenon many people face. By identifying it, we can separate our emotional biases from reality.
✨ I got to know it!
Understanding that many others feel this way is so liberating, like the "I'm not alone" kind of feeling.
✨ I took note!
I took notes on my phone whenever self-doubt crept in. Reflecting on the triggers gave me the time and space I needed to process before reacting (in a way that I might regret.)
✨ I seek counsel.
Building supportive relationships with peers and finding a therapist or mentor helped me share my own experiences and gain insights into overcoming these fake situations I created in my head.
✨ I got technical & learned learned learned!
While it’s easy to feel unworthy, I believe that continuous learning can boost our confidence. Surrounding myself with ambitious girlies inspired and motivated me to believe I can achieve the same.
✨ I gained more experience!
Nothing beats real-world experience. Each task I tackled gave me clarity on my skills and showed me how capable I am.
✨ I treated myself with kindness!
Because... overcoming imposter syndrome requires patience and self-compassion.
