A music festival in a city known for food? You know this had to be good. Here’s what I ate over my four days at Lollapalooza.

- Chicken Chaat Fries

Crispy seasoned fries topped with your usual Chaat sauces, green bell peppers and cilantro. Highlight was the delicious shredded masala chicken. Super filling and hearty.

- Horchata Latte

Perfect level of sweetness that didn’t cover up the flavor of the espresso. Paired really nice with the fries.

- Bottle of Rosé

Obviously extremely overpriced…i paid $65 for a $16 bottle of wine. Kim Crawford Rose did it’s job and was the most affordable option to get where ya want to get at a music festival. (If ya know what i mean)

- Chicharrones & Guacamole

Freshly made chicharrones with the balance of the fresh guacamole was the perfect snack to hold me over for the day. For about $16 it was pretty affordable for festival prices and how full it made me.

- Mango Chili Cocktail

The new Bacardi mango chili rum paired with pineapple juice and lime. Refreshing, spicy, and sweet.

- Jerk Turkey Panini with Plantains

Was definitely not what i was expecting and my least favorite thing i ate. The Turkey was deli style and wasn’t the best quality. The “jerk” was a spiced mayo smeared on the soggy bread that didn’t save the sandwich. Plantains were made perfectly and warm but obviously sat for a while. Worth the $9? Probably not.

- Spicy Pickle Fries

Holy shit. Thinly sliced picked spears with a spicy corn batter. Crispy, fried fresh and topped with a spiced aioli. I could have gone back for more of these a different day.

- Frozen Banana Pudding

I wish the guy was honest with me. I was expecting a riff on a classic banana pudding with an ice cream/frozen yogurt texture. Instead it was just a pint of banana ice cream with crumbs of vanilla wafers. Not a big fan.

- Agua Frescas

Green Apple lemonade tasted like a liquid jolly rancher. Was a nice sugar spike mid-day. Pepino lemon (not Limon) was not what I’m used to. I think they may have given me the wrong one as it kinda tasted like mango. But the addition of chamoy and tamarindo straw was a bonus.

- Crumbl Chocolate Chip

I have been to Crumbl a few times, but only gotten one of the specialty weekly cookies. I didn’t realize how good their classic chocolate chip was. This is a bonus entry as I didn’t eat it inside of the festival. There was a pop-up at the courtyard just outside their store on Michigan Ave for national chocolate chip cookie day.

- Jibarito with Rice and the “Big Ass Watermelon”

This was the only thing I ate at the festival when i came for 1-day last year. And a years worth of hoping this up did not disappoint. The pork inside was cooked well and juicy. This isn’t an easy eat more like a “take all your rings off and make sure you grab a lot of napkins.”

- Gin Cucumber Lemonade

I’m a big Gin fan and made a stop over to the Hendrix activation to snag one of these. It was made perfectly and came with this Hendrix fan that came in handy throughout the entire festival.
