Hi beauties! I love sharing my favorite routines, stretches, classes and more but for me it’s so much more than a fitness journey. To make exercise consistent for me, it was important to find mind body practices that actually felt good. I’ve shifted my mindset from thinking that “I have to” do things for my body to “I get to.” Pilates in particular is an incredible mind body practice that challenges me and leaves me feeling so good.

So here are the things I love about Pilates and the way it has impacted my life.

I feel so incredibly strong. Pilates is a low impact workout that gets your heart rate up while being easier on your body compared to other workouts. This way, you are stretching and strengthening every muscle in your body without as much wear and tear. But don’t get me wrong, I’m still VERY SORE (in a great way) after doing pilates!

My posture has improved. Pilates, similar to yoga and ballet, helps you not only get stronger but also focus on lengthening. By strengthening my core, back, and legs, my posture naturally improved.

Speaking of core, my core has never been stronger. It seems that almost every move in pilates engages the core therefore adding strength. My core is now the anchor for everything else I do for my body.

It’s actually fun! I love pilates because it’s fun to go to a class with friends with great music and a motivating instructor. There’s also unlimited variety based on the type of pilates or the equipment used so I’m never bored.
