Meeting Big Time Rush! 💜🔥

This past weekend, I got the once in a lifetime opportunity to meet one of my favorite childhood bands (and still a current favorite), who I still blast at full volume in my car. It was one of the coolest experiences, but there’s a reality to everything.

I first want to start off by saying I am by no means complaining. I know this was an opportunity I should be so grateful for, and absolutely I am, I just wish the money we paid for these opportunities came with better benefits.

With VIP, it states “meet and greet.” However, the definition of “meet and greet” I experienced was walk in, hug them, turn for the photo, talk for maybe 5 seconds, then leave. I have been a huge fan my whole life, and I was on top of the world 3 years ago when they announced they would be going on tour after 10+ years of nothing. This was everything I had hoped and dreamed for. I guess I just expected more time. Even just 30 seconds of more time. I left more disappointed because I hardly even got to say hi rather than happy that it happened.

Secondly, the reality of general admission is awful. If you or anyone you know has been in general admission for a concert, I’m sure you know exactly what I mean. People are so rude and disrespectful in ways I never thought possible in a setting that you’re supposed to be so ecstatic and happy in. The kindness in this world has seemed to disappear, especially in these types of settings. I, myself, someone who has such a hard time dealing with any confrontational situations, encountered just that this weekend. It left me speechless to see the ignorance of people ruining such a happy experience for someone.

It ended up resulting in a very kind security guard taking me back up close where I originally was for the reminder of the show, just on the other side. The family who let me stand beside their chairs showed me so much compassion and kindness. God bless them.

All in all, I wanted to share my thoughts on this experience, both positive and negative, to try and gain an understanding. I am so incredibly thankful I got the opportunity to experience a dream of mine.
