first week of uni tips📝

hello! since school is starting, let me give my personal tips on everything you need to know and prepare for your first week in uni~

what to bring

1. laptop/computer

2. name card (for class part purposes)

3. charger

4. water bottle (hydration is key)

5. notebook/ipad (for note taking purposes)

6. light snacks (just in case you're hungry in class)

7. jacket/sweater (for those who are scared of cold)

tips

1. pre read your lecture slides before class so you won't be lost and you can clear queries in class + your chance to class part when ur prof ask questions

2. try not to sit in the corner of the class, surround yourself with your classmates so you can make friends and form groups easily bcus people will usually start forming their project groups in the first week

3. befriend your profs, engage actively in their discussions. its good to network and build strong relationships with them

4. clarify all your doubts with your profs or your classmates, don't leave the class with questions - this was the major mistake i made and i struggled a lot nearing exams bcus of it

5. start to look for your study buddy or someone you can rely on in school. uni is a lonely place so you have to step out of your comfort zone to make friends and find your pillars of support

6. start creating your linkedin account and network with people. you need to this for most internship applications

7. don't be late for class, set a good impression in front of your profs!! try to arrive a few minutes early and chat a little with your prof, you need to set an impression

8. don't dress sloppily, at least wear a decent top and jeans paired with crocs. some profs are really picky about the dress code so take note

9. lastly, be friendly and smile! don't get on anyone's bad side
