not lying when i say this place is the reason why i started having north indian food now. before eating here, i was only familiar with prata and curry. BUT THIS!! OPENED!!! A WHOLE NEW WORLD!! oh also they appeared in the Michelin guide

it was so good that i forced my friend to go with me a second time in a span of two months HAHAHA he didn’t have a say in it

butter chicken ($19): ⭐️ STAR ⭐️ OF THE SHOW 😤😤😤 the chicken tikka was marinated in a delightful yogurt and spice mixture, and simmered in a thick gravy that was sooooo buttery. two ways of eating it: 1) with naan 2) with basmati rice. both of them were so heavenly i was so tempted to ask for a refill…. not sure if it’s possible

lamb shank briyani ($34): australian lamb shank stewed with aromatic spices and basmati rice. before this the only kind of lamb i had were the chinese skewers kind, so when my friend suggested it i was a little hesitant as i was afraid it’d be too gamey. blew my mind again!! lamb meat was so tender it came off with just a bit of pressure. also the portion size was HUGGGEEEE.

plain naan ($4.50): lucky we only ordered one to share because there was so much food for just two of us. naan was warm, i find no fault with it hehe

aloo gobi masala ($16.50): okay honestly at this point i was exploding already. but my friend was feeling adventurous and because the previous ones were all hits, i was like “why not?”. this is a vegetarian dish made with potatoes, cauliflower, and Indian spices. i think the spices used were a bit unfamiliar for me so i didn’t enjoy this, but your mileage may vary

wow didnt know i wrote so much but last tip! my first time was at their East Coast branch which was perfect. but my experience at great world wasn’t as spectacular 😢 turns out only their East Coast outlet was listed in the Michelin Guide!
