my FAV foods in bkk!!

we’ve been to bkk 3 times now, and these are our top picks!!

1. after you dessert cafe

need i elaborate?? i’m sure everyone knows this famous dessert cafe that can be found all over bangkok. the desserts here are so sinfully yummy. the shibuya honey toast was sooo good, a must-order every time. this time we also tried the chocolate mad brownie - it was super rich and delicious too, though can be abit jelak after a few mouths. previously, we had tried the ferrero toast and fudge cake which were good as well, but these 2 top the list!!

2. pier 21 food court Store #9 – Kha Moo Nakornchaisri (ขาหมูนครชัยศรี)

ok i managed to find the stall name on google, hopefully it’s right! anyway, it’s located in the pier 21 food court of the terminal 21 asok mall, but i’m sure this dish can be found in chatuchak/night markets as well. it’s a dish of roasted pork with braised items (pig trotters, intestines, eggs etc). according to a review, its cooked in thai-teochew style. bkk pork dishes are just superior imho, another must-try dish!

3. white flower factory

i found out about this place from a youtube siam area walkthrough, and wow. the food here was just damn good. it was quite empty when we entered and honestly had me worrying if the food was actually good bc i’m the one bringing my family there but!! they loved it. honestly every dish we ordered hit the spot. can’t really rmb each dish’s name but i think a beef noodle soup, tom yum soup, pork knuckle and crayfish(?) angel hair pasta. it’s located in siam square one iirc. this was our very first meal in bkk and every other meal aft that couldn’t match up to this which was q sad bc we set our expectations too high after this meal haha but it is what it is

4. a restaurant in union mall (name is in thai so i’m not too sure but took a pic of the signboard haha)

we chanced upon this restaurant while walking around union mall (near chatuchak). ok this might be slightly biased bc we were starving by the time we ate but everything tasted so good?? i had to take a half eaten picture to remember this place by bc it was that memorable. it was however a little difficult to communicate with the staff due to the language barrier, we wanted to clarify some discrepancy on our receipt but were unable to do so we just let it go haha

of course, bkk’s markets have a whole lot of delicious street food as well (we love eating seafood there!), these are just our fav foods outside of those!

also, pardon the lack of vocab to describe food other than ‘good’ 🥲
