don’t club in phuket.. it SUCKS 🤷🏻‍♀️

i recently went to phuket with my friends and we tried to go club there!! however i was majorly disappointed by many things 😩

✅ no cover charge (free entry!)

✅ drinks are generally cheaper there

my experience bases around illuzion because that was the only club we could go to

❌ no dance floor

— the main vibing area was filled with standing tables where people were drinking and smoking weed and drugs…

— we had to be really careful while dancing because the guards would be quite protective of their tables and shoo you away if you’re dancing there

— we were all just jumping and vibing to music (not doing anything insane or violent) like how you would in sg clubs but kinda got shooed away by the clubs in fear of knocking over drinks

❌ drugs…

— we all felt the effects of it after inhaling them second hand in the air :/

— it is commonplace for people to smoke idk what kinds of substances in clubs at phuket

— for us at least we were never exposed to drugs before so the second hand inhalation of everything was pretty unpleasant

— the smell also really sucks…

❌ ageist af (i think)

— when we tried hopping to another popular club in phuket (sugar club) they did not allow us to enter because they didn’t believe that those were our passports??!!! (we were all 20!)

— our theory is that we looked too young to be splurging on their tables and drinks and thus we were barred from entering

— when we asked why we couldnt enter, their only justification was that those (our passport pic) weren’t our faces??!!!?

😩 overall quite shitty 4/10 experience made slightly better with the company… we stayed there for less than 2 hours 💀
