The Power Of One More ✨

I’ve recently finished the book ‘The Power Of One More’ by Ed Mylett and quite enjoyed it ! This book is similar to Atomic Habits where it talked about the compounding effect of one more- making one more connection or doing one more gym set.

I thought the book was helpful as I embark on a more mindful way of living to achieve the goals I set for this year📝📝

‼️Reminder to self

⭕️ Reshaping your identify is the fundamental concept to changing your life

• Identity is what we believe about ourselves. It is similar to a thermostat where you find yourself back to the original temperature set on it (I.e. your identity)🌡️

• Unconsciously, we always find a way to go back to where our thermostat is set based on what we think we are worth

E.g. if your goal is to lose weight, you may start out very motivated only to give up later and end up back to the temperature set on your thermostat 🫨

Your thermostat boxes you in until you create a new identity that triggers growth and change. Therefore if your thermostat is set the right way, it will transcend conditions and you will find success no matter the external circumstances 🤓

❌ The beginning is always the hardest because your mind only likes what is familiar. I rmb reading somewhere that your mind would rather choose a familiar hell than an unfamiliar heaven 🥲

⭕️ Develop good habits

• Start with small steps and follow through - when you feel like giving up, just remember the power of ONE MORE 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

⭕️ Make difficult things a habit so they become easy

• This is something I am still working on !

📌 You are much closer to your goals than you think

• I keep this as a reminder to myself when I feel like giving up

I fully believe that life is not about finding yourself, but creating yourself. Set a few goals and see the confidence boast after achieving them 🎉
