Why did I quit my career as a preschool teacher?

After 3 years of working in the early childhood education system I decided to call it quits. I feel that although I still have love and passion for teaching children but the stress that it cause me is simply not worth it.

After 3 long early in this preschool teaching career, I quit due to poor support system from the centers, needing to do a lot of work throughout the weekends, even during lunch break we can’t even eat a proper meal or get 1 h of proper rest. Preparing for term portfolios ( every 3 months once.)

Buying things needed for children in childcare out of our own pockets. Getting a complain from a fussy parent due to a mosquito bite on their child. Writing lesson plans every week is never ending.

Over these three years definitely I am glad I have learn a lot of things but ultimately I decided to quit due to declining of mental health.

Of cos whatever the children write any notes or cards for me I will keep them. It’s really touching. I have many more which I put in my office.
