undetectable way to apply concealer 💁🏼‍♀️✨😚

One of my biggest pet peeves is when my makeup looks heavy! I hate being able to see every particle of makeup crease + dry up into the fine lines of my skin, so most days I just role without makeup if my undereyes aren’t looking too crazy . . . butttt, I usually don’t get enough sleep so that’s not really an option most of the times lol 😅 it’s kind of forced me to experiment with different concealers and skin prep! I’ve found that this method is THE best at giving me the most natural, undetectable concealer application:

First, I start with a hyaluronic acid serum (my fav is the Glow Recipe Plum Plump Hyaluronic Serum, but you can use anything)! Hyaluronic serums essentially plump up the skin- instead of having the skin look like a dry crinkled leaf, they hydrate and plump up all those fine lines, giving you the most smooth base for makeup.

I then go in with concealer, and I think this part is pretty key: you have to blend it with your FINGERS! I can’t really explain the science behind this one, but the product just melts and becomes “one with the skin” when you use your fingers (it might have to do with the warmth of your hands). Also, the concealer you use obviously also matters- this works best for hydrating concealer formulas! It also works with matte formulas, but I find that the “natural” effect we’re going for isn’t the same when you use a matte formula because our skin isn’t natural matte. My fav concealer to use has to be the Tarte Shape Tape Ultra Creamy Concealer in the shade light-medium (230).

*note: I also don’t set my concealer! I don’t like how cakey powder makes my skin look, so I’ll just wait for the concealer to crease and then wipe off product from the area that creases before I leave the house- problem solved!
