back in may, i attended the boyz’s zeneration world tour in korea and wow it was a whole new experience that truly HIT DIFFERENT 🤍

here are some of my experiences + tips if you’re planning to attend a concert in korea 🇰🇷

p.s this varies for each concert, so it might be different from what others have experienced❕

1. TICKETING 🎫

tickets for tbz’s concert were sold on yes24, which has a global site for overseas fans. you can checkout with your mastercard or paypal! i actually tried to get tickets when they first came out but i had problems with the checkout process while paying with mastercard so i eventually couldn’t get it 😭 my friends managed to purchase smoothly with paypal, so perhaps that’d be the safer option to secure your tickets!

one difference from ticketing in sg is that you’re able to choose the seats. this means that its gonna take longer for you to reach the checkout page so you gotta be wise in choosing which section & seats you want. koreans are also known to be fast with this process, so that was a double kill 🥲 a brutal process fr but owell we just gotta pray to the ticketing gods 🙏🏼

2. GET TO THE VENUE EARLY 🏃🏻‍♀️

trust me on this because there’s so many things to do & explore!!! there were photo-taking spots, merchandise showcase & booths etc. 😍 my friend & i arrived 2hrs before the concert and we were SO OVERWHELMED. the place was also filled with fans giving out/selling/trading items so do come prepared 🤑

3. BE PREPARED FOR A LONG CONCERT ⏰

concerts in sg usually span around 1.5-2hrs but they can go up to about 3-4hrs in korea! the concert started at 5pm & only ended at around 9pm... its so much more worth your money but my friend & i were dead tired past the 3hr mark LOL thank god it was an all seated concert 😮‍💨

not complaining tho bc we really enjoyed every minute of it & it was nice to watch so many stages that weren’t in their overseas setlist 🫶🏼 i can’t remember if water is allowed inside but there’s a ”mama shop” right outside the concert hall so you can purchase snacks/drinks before the concert!

4. LEARN THEIR CONCERT ETIQUETTE 👀

how fans behave in each country really differs & this was something i had to unfortunately learn it the hard way...

what i observed about korea fans is that they’re mostly very calm – they stay seated throughout the concert, cheer at appropriate timings & they don’t hold up their signages/banners/lightsticks too high etc.

plus, you may think its normal to express your excitement through your body actions but that isn’t really how it is in korea 😶‍🌫️ i got shushed by a k-fan beside me bc she felt that my friend & i were being too noisy lmao... honestly, she could have told us in a much nicer way but welp it was our bad, so do lookout for these things!!

5. MEETING IDOLS 😳

yes, this really does happen & i coincidentally sat right in front of a group of idol trainees!!! idk who they are till this day bc they were all masked up but it was quite a humbling experience bc my friend & i didn’t know how to act... we were both pretending to take selfies just so we could get a glimpse of them 😀 embarrassing.

also idk if their legs were too long or the distance between the rows were quite near but every time i lean back, i accidentally hit their knees so the whole time i was just sitting up 💀

we spotted another group of celebrities on the 2nd level too so fingers crossed, you may just be lucky enough to sit around them 🤭

overall it was a 10/10 experience for me 💙 no regrets buying the tickets the night before the concert bc i truly had the time of my life & it topped all of my other concert experiences in sg!

if your favs are having a concert while you’re in korea – don’t think twice, JUST GO 🤟🏼
