My Medical Assistant Journey

Hey guys my name is Gissel and I want to tell you my journey of becoming a Medical Assistant. I live in NYC and it’s SUPER EXPENSIVE out here. I wanted to go to Nursing school but unfortunately I ended up failing and going into student debt. I didn’t have much support and funds so I couldn’t pursue it at this time.

However I decided to join Penn Fosters Associates Degree in Medical Assisting and my grades are phenomenal. I get so many study materials and the flexibility of being in self paced program, meaning I can graduate on my own time.

I interviewed a private hospital today and was hired as a Medical Assistant, however until I earn my certification I can only do clerical duties but it’s also great experience. I wanted to share this post to let you all know that it’s not impossible, and sometimes you need to take a different route and that’s totally okay!
