Is Mikuni worth the price tag? 🤔🤔💰

——— my bf & I tried this place on Valentine’s Day & we were underwhelmed by the environment lolol, the interior wasn’t impressive at all & defo didn’t look like a posh restaurant 🥶 & we thought it was located in Fairmont but nope… it was in a connecting path between Fairmont & Raffles City which js made it seem like any other typical shopping mall Japanese restaurant 🤣🤣

🍜 tempura wakame udon $38

it’s a single portion but you can have it split into two! & i think the portion is q ok considering it’s split in 2??? I thought it wldve been a lot more pathetic like fin in 2 mouth kind….. 🤣 Taste wise wldnt say it’s out of the world but the tempura was not bad! but $38 for this…… 💔

sauce was yummy and there were some veg like mushrooms! can let it cook till the doneness you like hahah but the meat is q thin la 😅 defo not worth the price 🤣

YUMMMS!!!! & xtra #MyVibe bc I love cod omg & it was so tender… butttt the sauce tasted A TAD BIT too exotic but somehow still made the dish less one dimensional so js a little bit w each bite makes it good 🤭

meh just like another sushi roll that I can get from ichiban or whatevs was okay but q forgettable hahah

wasn’t served as cold as I liked it to be with only like 4/5 pieces. donki’s $22 platter is so much fresher & yummier 🤦‍♀️

🍨 Hokkaido milk ice cream $18

normal ice cream that’s totally not worth at all omg imagine paying $18 for a scoop of ice cream that doesn’t even scream Hokkaido milk….. & there wasn’t anytg intricate about the plating or wtv, js a scoop in a patterned bowl 😅😅😅 but my bf loves hokkaido milk ice cream so we got it LOL & he thought it was good 😅

🍰 shizuoka matcha fiancier cake $30

my bf who isn’t really a cake person loved the cake alot LOL meanwhile I didn’t rly enjoy it as much as he did despite being a cake person…. but the yam ice cream goes p well w the cake, I’d say it’s worth a try!

Isit really worth the price….. I don’t think so, i definitely don’t mind paying for quality but I think Mikuni lacked in this aspect…. None of the dishes were memorable maybe only the cod & cake which is worth trying!! But I wldnt say they had top tier service either, we had to wait for q abit to order & even had to queue despite having a reservation 💀 & btw we weren’t full aft this meal, halfway thru we were talking about how we wldve enjoyed x5 Genki meals so much more 🤣🤣🤣

OH they do have lunch sets tho which r more reasonably priced so maybe y’all can try that! Maybe food taste better when they r priced better?? 🤣
