πβ¨ Friday Feels = Comfort Food! β¨π
Itβs finally Friday, and nothing says cozy weekend vibes like a big bowl of homemade Spaghetti Bolognese! π π Iβm topping mine with fresh basil and a sprinkle of Parmesan for that perfect touch of yum π.
Whatβs on your dinner menu tonight? π·π΄
Ingredients:
- 14 oz spaghetti
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium carrot finely diced
- 1 celery stalk finely diced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 28 oz canned diced tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- Β½ cup red wine(optional)
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese, grated (for serving)
- Fresh basil leaves, to garnish
Instructions:
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions (usually 8-10 minutes) until al dente. Drain and just set aside.
2. Prepare the Bolognese sauce:
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add chopped onions, garlic, carrot, and celery. Cook for about 5 minutes until softened and fragrant.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon (about 7-8 minutes).
3. Add the tomatoes:
- Stir in the tomato paste and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add the canned diced tomatoes and red wine (if using). Mix well.
4. Season:
- Add oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. If the sauce thickens too much, add a little water.
5. Serve:
- Serve the spaghetti on plates and top with the Bolognese sauce.
- Garnish with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves.
Enjoy your Spaghetti Bolognese topped with basil! It def makes a difference! Enjoy π
