APPLE FRITTER RECIPE 🍎

From the Apple Barn in Pigeon Forge, TN

Ingredients

🍎 1 c. milk

🍎 1 large egg

🍎 4 tbsp butter, melted © 1/4 c. sugar © 1/2 tsp. salt

🍎 1 orange, juiced

🍎 1 c. finely diced apple with peel

🍎 3 c. all-purpose flour

🍎 2 tsp. baking powder

🍎 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Instructions

1) Preheat frying oil to 350°F. Make sure there is enough to completely submerge the fritters.

2) Beat egg in a mixing bowl and combine with milk and melted butter. Add orange juice, chopped apples and vanilla.

3) Sift together flour, sugar, salt, baking powder.

4) Add dry ingredients to the mixing bowl and blend well.

5) Measure 1 tbsp of batter and drop into hot oil, turn and fry till golden. Allow to cool and toss with cinnamon and powder sugar if you choose. Serve with apple butter.
