Visit Kek Lok Si Through My Lens 📸

If you’re heading to Penang for the first time, make sure to spare some time to visit Kek Lok Si located on Penang Hill.

When I first visited the temple, I was wow-ed by its grandeur — the details on each temple, pagoda or structure were so immaculate, that they made for great photos.

If you’re not familiar with this temple, Kek Lok Si is one of the biggest Buddhist temples in Southeast Asia. While may not look like your modern or minimalistic Insta-worthy location, this temple sure has charm if you view it from a different (and colourful) perspective.

During the Chinese New Year period, this temple is decorated with bright red and orange lanterns, making it perfect for the festivities.

While you’re there, be sure to visit the seven-storey pagoda, Pagoda of Rama VI and spot the 10,000 alabaster and bronze statues of Buddha. Don’t miss out on the Guan Yin statue on the top floor as well!
