I make sand candle in Penang ✨

This is my first sand candle experience. It was a therapeutic activity to do during weekends / holidays.

I got my sand candle art inspiration from the sunset view from my room and it’s really an interesting experience of transforming what you see into an art glass ✨🫧

I chose to do a relatively simple sand painting, which took a total of 3-4 hours. A high-technical art will take longer to complete.

Production process:

1. Divide candles - pour sand candles into different cups, more cups are needed for more colors

2. Toning - Inject 3-4 drops of colouring into each cup and stir well. If you want a darker tone, add more colouring to your desired hue.

3. Choose essential oils - Add 3-5 drops of your favorite essential oils to each candle cups and stir well. If you want a stronger aroma, you can add extra drops.

4. Candle wick - Use clear glue sticker to secure the wick in the middle of the glass.

5. Sand Drawing - Start making your sand drawing from the bottom of the sketch. I didn't prepare an exact sketch myself. According to my imagined sunset view, I poured different colored sand candles accordingly to make a gradient sunset effect.

6. Leveling - After finishing the sand painting, level the surface, cover with leak-proof paper, and you are done 👍🏻
