Absolutely Money-Worthy Jap Food in ION Orchard

Always thought that the food at Ion are pretty pricey for a quality meal - until I discovered Sen-Ryo! I was seated by the bar counter and I loved the experience witnessing the staffs grill the skewers at one side and preparing the sushi at the other side~

I went on a weekday evening and was quite surprised at the waiting time being 90mins - there were about 17 groups in front of us. (They mention that making a reservation months ahead will be better - so just a note!) However, we only waited for about 45 minutes before being contacted - I guess many groups gave up on waiting hahahaa. 🤣

Some of the items I love - the must-trys:

✨ Sen-ryo tamgoyaki with mentaiko sauce

This is the perfect starter for your meal - light, fluffy, and the touch of mentaiko that hits every spot

✨ Sen-ryo temaki

This!!!! Handroll!!! Filled with fatty tuna, roe, and uni - fresh goodness all packed in a roll really slaps!

✨ Gyu and Shishito

Many layers of Gyu beef wrapped around the apasperagys - juicy and tender, melting in your mouth with each bite - I LOVE IT.

For the sushis, I think they are of a quality standard and are very fresh - but wouldn’t think it’s too spectacular to comment on.

✨ Matcha Mochi

Essentially a Mochi skin, dusted with flour and a very rich and authentic Matcha ice cream. This combination is a matchmake in heaven and a dessert I’ll definitely order every time I’m here to complete my meal. 🫶🏻

Overall I think it’s a perfect place for a date with your partner or even your friend because of the intimate setting and the quality Japanese dishes you can get - WITHOUT BREAKING YOUR BANK! 😮‍💨
