On Girlhood: 15 Stories from the Well-Read Black Girl Library is an anthology curated by Glory Edim, founder of the Well-Read Black Girl literary community. The collection brings together short stories by prominent Black women writers that explore the diverse experiences of Black girlhood. These stories, written by celebrated authors such as Toni Morrison, Zora Neale Hurston, Alice Walker, and more contemporary voices like Brit Bennett, trace the complexities of growing up as a Black girl in America.

The book is divided into four thematic sections:

1. Innocence: These stories explore the early stages of girlhood, focusing on childhood, innocence, and the first moments of self-awareness. The narratives highlight the joys, questions, and vulnerabilities that accompany growing up.
