Dental insurance. Is it worth it?

I am going off of a group plan this July, signing up for a Medicare Plan G. My question is, is dental insurance worth it? I’ve been quoted prices ranging from $50-$95 a month. Most do not cover more than cleaning, bite wing x rays and an exam. Would I be better off negotiating with my dentist for a cash deal? I checked, and for those services (cleaning, bite wing , exam) insurance paid $193.
