Mid-Year Book Recap Review

The goal for me this year is to read 10 books and as you can see I am a little over halfway there lol. But, I'm not going to change my goal because you never know what life can throw at you.

Dreamland Billionaire Series by Lauren Asher:

☆ 10 out of freaking 10!

☆ It took me a total of 12 days to finish this series and I swear it felt like I was watching a TV series or movie instead of reading.

☆ I love how each of the characters are WOC!

☆ This series has definitely opened me up to wanting to read more from Lauren Asher

Queen Charlotte by Julia Quinn and Shonda Rhimes:

☆ 10/10!!!!

☆ I don't even think there are enough words for me to fully express how much I truly loved this book.

☆ The intimacy of understanding that is expressed between Charlotte and George throughout their story touched my soul.

☆ And yes I bawled my eyes when watching the series on Netflix and when I finished reading lol.

The Duke and I by Julia Quinn

☆ 9/10

☆ I like how this book filled in the little gaps that show wasn't able to fit in their script because it allowed the readers to see how quirky and silly Simon was as well as getting a deeper understanding of his internal battles.

The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn

☆ 9/10

☆ I think that the only thing that is holding me back from giving this a 10 is that in this version, Kate is not from India. So because of this, I had to mentally keep altering the appearance of her and her sister in my mind throughout the book.

☆ I truly loved the deeper character development that is shown in Kate. In the Netflix series, we see that although Kate and Anthony both like each other, and it is shows that she helps him overcome his battles. But, there are many things that Kate had to overcome along with Anthony and I think that it is just beautiful how he helped her throughout it all.
