Godmama just stole my heart (and stomach) with their modern take on Peranakan cuisine! They've elevated classic dishes to a whole new level, with perfect textures & flavor bombs in every bite. The buah keluak dish was nutty & divine, the sambal chilli has the perfect kick & the Nasi Ulam is a MUST-TRY! Super reasonable prices for great quality. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

A blend of fresh prawns, minced meat, 5-spiced water chestnut rolls wrapped in beancurd sheet. Tangy chilli sauce & sweet black sauce was really good.

The signature spread has ten herbs & spices : lemongrass, torch ginger flower, laksa leaves, kaffir lime leaves, turmeric leaves, long beans, cucumber, chilli paste, fried shallots & strips of mackerel. Mix everything together with bluepea flower thai jasmine rice that was highly aromatic & textural.
*Pork jowl buah keluak-$23.90
The pork jowl stew with 3 buah keluak, the peranakan version of black gold! The Australian Pork jowl was melt-in-the-mouth-good is a delicacy, generously infused also with fresh root spices of lengkuas (blue ginger) & turmeric.
*Sambal udang petai -$23.90
Prawns cooked in sambal with stinky beans or Petai is a rice killer & another TOP PICK of mine! Super yum!

*Crayfish nyonya yellow mee -$23.90
Thick Yellow noodle is stir-fried then simmered in a rich umami stock of prawn shells, chicken & pork bones for twelve hours. On top, luxurious ingredients like crayfish, pork belly & balanced with sliced omelette, bean sprouts & fried shallots. Very flavorful!
A spicy pineapple & cucumber relish (sambal nanas timun) on the side to cut the Jelak-ness! Perfect dish for birthday with noodles to symbolise longevity & ohng (good luck) as it was traditionally meant to be eaten!
Many other dishes yet to be savoured in my coming trip there again! 100 percent returning!
