CUT by wolfgang puck at MBS has got to be the classiest steak restaurant in Singapore, read on to find out if it's #WorthIt

The restaurant is decked in classy New York style with a dim and warm dining ambience. One thing i disliked about the restaurant though was how small the tables for couples were and how close they were to other tables which lacked privacy for an intimate conversation. Lets talk about the food:

STARTERS 🥂:

The meal starts a huge bread basket which has so many varieties of bread! I love bread and the bread here was amazing, warm and so many different textures and flavours. We asked for more bread even though we'd were stuffed from the food. I loved the warm cheese puffs which were small fluffy rolls filled with mozzarella cheese.

We also got their signature cocktails Rough Love ($22 SGD each). This is a blend of Champagne, Japanese Shiso Umeshu, Tanqueray No.10 Gin and Peach Bitters. It is very palatable for non-heavy drinkers and refreshing, almost like a palette cleanser.

STEAK 🥩

We got the 400g of the prime USDA ribeye steak (roughly $200 SGD) to share. I don't know about people who eat steak regularly but 400g does not seem like a serving for one. It's definitely more than sufficient to share a larger cut between 2!

The marbling on the beef was nothing to shout about, definitely try the wagyu for better marbling. However the steak was really well done, the crusting and overall taste of the beef was really smoky and flavourful. There were also 5 different complimentary sauces to pair your steak with, alternatively you could also order the classics like chimichurri for $5 a pop.

SIDES 🥘 ($18 SGD each)

You cant eat steak without creamed spinach and mac and cheese. both of these were done WELL — no nonsense they know what they're doing when it comes to food. The mac and cheese especially, crispy top crust and stretchy cheese. The portions are good for sharing between 2-3 pax and i would totally pay this again for the sides 🤤

DESSERT:

Each meal ends with a complimentary set of petite fours, we also got the peanut caramel bar. I wasn't blown away by the desserts but they were definitely so pretty and a good end to a great meal.

SERVICE:

despite feeling uncomfortable about how close the tables were, the service here was great and everyone was really friendly. they even handwritten a birthday card for my boyfriend who was celebrating his birthday.
