Books aren’t just for bedtime ❤️

Bedtime stories are an awesome way to calm your child down before it’s time to sleep. However, books are not just for bedtime! Language development seems to be the most self explanatory of the developmental areas, however I find it’s probably the most easily overlooked. One of the easiest ways to aid your child’s language skills is by reading!

1. Infants/Toddlers LOVE books. They’re comforting to them because it means spending time with you.

2. Feeling safe whilst trying new things, like saying a word you haven’t before, is extremely important. Cultivate books as your safe space with your little one.

3. Have you noticed your toddler knowing what the page says without actually knowing how to read? Repetition!!! They remembered! Soon they will have visual word recognition and not just auditory, keep going!!
