How to escape the city (NYC edition)

Wave Hill Public Garden & Cultural Center in the Bronx is one of my favorite places to go when the city gets too stuffy and overwhelming. It’s open from 10:30 AM - 5:30 PM every day except Mondays! Last admission is at 5 PM.

Admission for adults is $10 (students and seniors $6). They have two designated picnic areas if you want to bring food, and in general it’s a really beautiful place for a view of the Hudson as you stroll looking at their gardens. It’s very underrated in my opinion and not as many people go as they do to the Bronx Botanical Garden and similar institutions.
