Birthday dinner with a view (Desaru Edition)

Celebrated my 26th birthday at SEA.FIRE.SALT. located within Anantara Desaru Resort.

The restaurant is nicely located right on the beach, so its perfect for a romantic dinner whilst watching the sunset. We were seated outdoors and the view of the pool and beach was lovely.

Our meal was enjoyable but did not live up to our expectations, especially for the price. Our starter was a small portion and our meat was a bit too rare for our liking.

Also do be careful of the sandflies! By the end of our dinner they were full on attacking our legs and getting to our food, but you can ask the waiter to provide your table with a mini fan to keep them away.

If you want to splurge a bit, SEA.FIRE.SALT. is a reasonable choice and the hotel is lovely.

💡Tip - make sure you call a few days in advance to confirm your reservation as somehow they had not acknowledged mine even though I had gotten a confirmation email
