How I ace my essays with ChatGPT ✍️

I recently talked about ChatGPT with my friends and collated a few good hacks on how to use it to improve your essay writing! I usually struggle a lot with essays because it’s super time-consuming & I’m always worried that my sentence structures isn’t clear enough… ✍️ So thank god for ChatGPT!

1. Quick Literature Review

While doing essays, I sometimes come across study findings but without the citations. If you have any piece of information that you can’t find the source of, simply copy & paste it into ChatGPT and ask “What studies were these?” You can even ask for the “APA citations” and ChatGPT will give it to you straightaway! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

You can also ask ChatGPT to suggest an essay outline if you’re feeling stuck!

2. Essay Writing Help

When writing essays, one thing I always feel unconfident about is the structure of my sentences & if the whole essay flows well.

This is when ChatGPT comes into play as you can simply copy & paste your entire essay, and ask “Can you help me improve this essay?” ChatGPT will sometimes give you a list of areas of improvement instead of actually giving an improved version of the essay, if you don’t want that then you can ask “Can you provide me with an improved version of this essay?”

ChatGPT will change your sentence structures and help to put similar points together so that your essay flows more logically. They might also add on more cited evidence and sentences to ensure the whole paragraph flows better. *Note to check for plagiarism for these added sentences and it’s better to use another paraphrasing app to paraphrase it! 📝

3. Shorten Research Time

When writing an essay on a particular topic, it’s time-consuming and sometimes difficult to find research papers that will provide you with the information you need. Sometimes, even searching with key words on google scholar might give you irrelevant articles.

So when I’m doing essays what I do is state the main argument that I am making, and ask ChatGPT “what are some studies that argue this?”. ChatGPT will then give a list of research papers that are relevant! You can then search for these articles online. ^^ Super easy and it saves SO MUCH TIME!! 💯💯

💬 There are plenty of things you can ask ChatGPT to help you with, and these are just a few examples relevant to essay writing! Just take note not to copy and paste directly from ChatGPT, always make sure to paraphrase so as to avoid plagiarism! 😊
